About Kompiang Metri-Davies
Ms. Metri-Davies was introduced to Balinese dance at the age of five in her home village of Ngis in Eastern Bali. She moved to the USA in 1992, and lives with her family in the East Bay. She has been involved in a number of cross-cultural, cross-media collaborations including: Liku liku Hidupku (2005), an authobiographical work premiered at the Asian Pacific Islander Festival, Chitresh Das’s East as Center (2003), Yasmen Sorab Metha The Piper (1998), Abhinaya Dance Company’s production of The Ramayana (1997), ShadowLight Productions’s In Xanadu (1997), Sidha Karya (1996), and Lithe Spirit (1996) which she choreographed an original dance piece with composer Dudley Brooks.
Her extensive experience teaching dance at Sonoma Academy (2009), Asian Youth Promoting Advocacy & Leadership (2006), Danceversity Camp at Ashkenaz (2006), classes at the Indonesian Consulate General, San Francisco (2006), and at The Mahea Uchiyama Center for International Dance.
Her own performance group, Gadung Kasturi Balinese Dance and Gamelan Music has performed all over the USA.

Adult class: 7:00 – 8:00pm
Tuition: $45/month
Tuition: $15/class
All classes are held every Tuesday at The Mahea Uchiyama Center for Int’l Dance, 729 Heinz Ave #4, Berkeley.
